In a new interview, Richard Madden of Game of Thrones discusses Robb’s storyline in season 2, what new material has been added, and how much he really knows about future books. Beware of spoilers.

Speaking to the Huffington Post, Madden sets the record straight: yes, he does know what happens to Robb Stark later on in the A Song of Ice and Fire saga. But he’s still on Team Robb in the current clash of kings:

There’s this fantastic speech later on in the show where he talks about what that means to him. What I love is that even though that’s what he wants to do, he can’t because there are other factors playing, and he’s not selfish in any way. For someone so young, he’s such a man, especially in this season. He makes a lot of tough decisions, and he’s acting like a man. But sometimes, the mask can drop and you’re like, “My god, he’s just a boy, acting like a man.” This whole season, he’s leaning by doing. Everything is a new experience — a first time — for Robb.

He also admits that though he doesn’t read ahead in the series, he knows what happens to Robb:

People are like, “Oh my god. Do you know what happens to your character?” On the street people are like, “Oh my god! Your character!” And I’m like, “I know, already! Okay? Don’t tell me!” I know exactly what happens, and people have told me a lot of details about it, but I’m like, [Covers ears] “Be quiet! Be quiet! I don’t want to ruin it!.” I want to see it happen for myself and read it and feel it as I go along, rather than be spoiled.

He also talks about his relationship with Jeyne (who apparently isn’t called Westerling), saying:

There is so much sex in the show, and it’s really easy and sometimes, it just happens, or there’s lots of women and one man [laughs] or whatever! But with Robb and this woman that’s come into his life, I think that Robb’s not really experienced in that way, and anything that happens between them comes out of their true feelings for one another. It’s not just sex. It’s not easy for anyone in Robb’s position. This is the first time that he’s ever had proper feelings for a woman, so as their relationship develops, things come from a really heartfelt place.

If you put yourself in Robb’s shoe,he was sad, pressured and  had huge resposbilities and really needed some comfort..and thats why he takes Jeyne’s maidenhood when she comforted him..I noticed some fans saying that he wasnt thinking with his head when he did it and he was overcome by lust..i totally disagree…him sleeping with jeyne was something more than lust.R
Richard really brings Robb alive onscreen..good job Rich!

I could sort of understand why they changed Asha’s name to Yara but why are the cutting the Westerling?
