The marketing campaign for Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator has proven to be incredibly controversial – the star dumped the “ashes” of Kim Jong Il on Ryan Seacrest during the Oscars, and recycled footage of world leaders condemning real life dictators for the films trailer. Will this new poster cause as much of a stir?

Well, no. The new poster (which was released by Total Film earlier today) is decidedly tame, featuring only Cohen as Admiral General Aladeen on camel-back in the streets of New York City. Take a look at the poster below.

What do you think? Is the poster too tame for the film? Are you looking forward to Sacha Baron Cohen’s latest film?

i don’t think anything can top him spilling Kim Jong Il’s ashes on Ryan Seacrest! looks a little tame, but maybe they just wanted a more simple poster, i don’t know…
