Though The Weinstein Company was prepared to release the film without a rating after receiving an ‘R,’ the MPAA has now granted Bully a PG-13 rating.
Filmmakers agreed to cut three uses of the f-word, but were allowed to keep in the scene that was at the center of the ratings controversy, reports IndieWire:
The scene that has been at the forefront of the battle with the MPAA — the one that shows teen Alex Libby being bullied and harassed on a bus — has been left fully intact and unedited.
We’re glad the MPAA finally came to its senses, but we’re still disappointed overall considering the drama that occurred.
