Briefly: If ever there were an “anti”- awards show, the Razzies would be it. Celebrating the very worst cinema has to offer in an almost gleeful manner, this is one of the few awards shows movies don’t want to be a part of.
Unfortunately for Adam Sandler and his recent comedy Jack and Jill, this was not the case. The film has broken Razzie records by picking up all ten of the major awards, including Worst Picture.
Jack and Jill dominated the “Golden Raspberry” awards, picking up Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Screen Ensamble, Worst Remake Rip-off or Sequel, Worst Screen Couple, and Worst Screenplay.
While the Razzie’s aren’t taken all that seriously, it is never a good sign for a film to “win” an award, let alone ten. With this and an infamous 3% on Rotten Tomatoes, Jack and Jill is destined to go down as one of the all-time worst.
Have you seen the film? Were these “awards” justified?
