MTV has released a new clip from The Hunger Games, and it may be our favorite yet!

It’s the scene where Peeta reveals to Ceasar Flickerman that he’s in love with Katniss.

Since this clip is from MTV it may not work outside of the United States. We’ll work on getting a version that works worldwide.

Two other clips have been released from the film over the past few weeks. See Cinna speaking with Katniss and Katniss impressing the Gamemakers.

EDIT: If you can’t see the clip above due to country restrictions, below is a version of the clip in low-res. We’ll update once a high-res one is available worldwide.

  • BronzeSparks123

I am SOOOO excited for this movie.  And this clip makes me very happy, becuase I loved it in the book and I liked this clip from the movie.  11 days!!!!! <3

  • http://twitter.com/VSteffarud Veronica Steffarud

    It works in Norway :)

  • Blake

It works in the Philippines, too. I had to stop watching after 10 seconds because of reasons.

  • Jen

I think Josh is amazing as Peeta!  I love this scene.  It’s exactly how I pictured it in the book! :)

  • http://fangirlflair.tumblr.com/ TootsieNoodles

    I works in Indonesia :)

  • Mih Lazari

    it works in Brazil ;)

  • http://twitter.com/teacherem mary ann cariñola

Ayie!!! I love that SCENE!!! Thanks for making it possible for us here in the Philippines to view this clip…Can’t wait!!! It’s gonna be on March 22! :))

  • Silverfirelizard16

    Oh my god…HE’S PEETA!

  • Eoin

This clip has erased almost almost all doubts about this movie.

    • writeworld

      Elaborate?

    • Turbo

Unless of course he follows up with “Effie Trinket”.

    • http://twitter.com/taylorelizibeth Taylor Leonard

I know right? Like the dialogue is like spot on from the book in this scene.

  • Lorena

    Awwwwwww, Peeta!

  • Kitster_kosh

oh my gosh!! The characters are perfect!!!

Favorite scene. I don’t even really need to go see the movie now.

  • http://twitter.com/SlySound Brett H

The acting in this tiny clip was better than the entire Twilight franchise.

    • jozefd14

      I totally agree!!!! =D

    • Ron Weasley

oh god where’s harry with the ressurection stone, i just died because i laughed so hard

    • Skye H.

I love how Josh pulled that off. The look of total dread of the last line, like he was gonna be sick. I know the feeling

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100003217053155 Liliana Baptista

OMG! First, this works in Portugal. Second: OMG!!! I’m such a fangirl…

  • Listheway

See, I don’t mean to be an annoyingly critical fangirl, but… I just don’t see Josh as Peeta. I mean, the clip is phenomenal and hits us in just the right places and is surprisingly (and pleasantly) in sync with the book, but… I don’t know. I shouldn’t judge him on this clip. But… from the two clips I HAVE heard him speak… I don’t like what I hear. I’m more a fan of his physical acting as Peeta (the way he composes himself as Peeta, basically) instead of the verbal. But I’m just going to wait and see, because hey, I could be eating my own words on March 23rd.

    PS. YES! POWER TO FLICKERMAN!

    • luigi_barraza

If you read the comments, you’ll see you are on your own.

      • katie

And that’s completely okay. What a world this would be if everyone bent to the majority opinion. Comments are boring when they’re all the same.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VCJSDSEDKYOBEKWGIXCDB2QPYA Henry

listheway i actually agree with you…. I think this movie will be good, but not epic. And the next two movie wont be as good as this one just by the stories alone.

  • http://twitter.com/Celtise Celtise

I just splurged on the massive THG post from yesterday and it was relatively spoiler free so I think I’m gonna skip this. I even skipped past the picture. Plus after reading the comments, I suspect it doesn’t work here in Ireland anyways.

    • Gary65

It doesn’t but the low res youtube one does and its AWESOME!!!

      • http://twitter.com/Celtise Celtise

I think I’m going to save myself from watching it until the movie! I can’t believe they released this though of all the things they would put out.

        • Gary65

I’m glad they did. Peeta has been woefully underplayed in all the promotional work they’ve done for HG so far. As the 2nd most important character in the whole franchise, it was really beginning to piss me off.

          • http://twitter.com/Celtise Celtise

I like the way they haven’t focusing on him. People who haven’t read the books don’t know how pivotal he will be beforehand or what his function is. Thus making it a more enjoyable movie for them. We have to remember that just because we’ve read them, the movie and it’s promotion aren’t geared at just fans of the books.

          • Gary65

I totally get that. But they’ve been playing him as just some other tribute with a mere tangential connection to the main story because he and Katniss are from the same district. There are plenty of great Peeta scenes to show without giving away his larger role in the film.

In most of the trailers and TV spots, Gale appears more than Peeta does(there were even a few TV spots where we didn’t see Peeta’s face once) and, given how little of Gale there is in the first 2 books, that’s nigh on criminal.

          • PotionWillow207

@Gary65:disqus - Not if they’re intentionally trying to mislead the people who haven’t read the books. If you will remember the first time you read Hunger Games, it’s all Gale and Katniss until the reaping; Peeta isn’t even mentioned until that point. So why shouldn’t the movie audience get the same feeling of shock?

    It works in Lebanon! ^__^

    FANGIRL CREYS

  • Guest

So I’m hoping this is after all the interviews are over and they’re all watching it again on TV? like in the book, and not that they changed it so all the tributes aren’t together on the stage and get called up one by one…? :S

  • melizabeth

The sound that came out of my mouth when he said “she came here with me” was not human.

  • EffieTrinket

WOW! This is one AWESOME video! :)

  • Ajsf18

I NOOOOOT GONNA WATCH THIS. i will wait. this is one of my favorite scene.

    • KayJayGee

      I’m with you….but it’s so hard :’(

  • HungerPotterFan

I’m dead. My heart is breaking

  • Marieriddle20

I dont like how all the tributes arent on stage, it doesnt let us the audience see her reaction…also means its setting it up badly for the next interviews(which i wont go into detail, but for anyone who has read the book knows its important that all tributes are on stage together

    • Kelly Barker

Maybe they’ll have a camera backstage and they can cut to her reactions, and the moment you’re talking about?

  • http://twitter.com/HungerGames4all Rae

OMG, while everyone is fangirling over Josh, (and I am right there with you all) I am blown away by Stanley Tucci!! Seriously, how PERFECT is he!!!!

    • Amanda J

I am right there with you. Fangirling over Josh can be split with being blown away by Stanley Tucci. He is perfect and I can never not adore him.

    • http://www.facebook.com/ebooboo1 Erica Gipson

Exactly how I envisioned Caesar while reading the book…. I loved Caesar’s character and I love Stanley Tucci so its a perfect match imo :)

    • Bridget

      AGREE

  • TheOneAndOnlyCliche

Stanley is amazing here. Loving Jennifer’s reaction shot. Mr. Hutcherson delivered it so damn well…happythankyoumoreplease sums it up, thank you Josh Radnor.

  • HungerGamesFan

i knew he was the perfect peeta from the first time they announced he’d be playing the character. soo excited for the movie!

  • http://twitter.com/lc4lif3 Elsie Nolasco

     http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEnEXFE-a08

  • http://twitter.com/chelscantil Chelsea Cantil

does it say in the book that the tributes stay on stage and are all still up there when it gets to him? am I the only one that’s been thinking they’re up there alone

    • http://twitter.com/chelscantil Chelsea Cantil

      :0

    • QuaffleRose34

that’s exactly what I was thinking; that’s the ONLY thing that bothers me about this clip.  It would’ve been so much cooler if we could’ve had Katniss on the stage so that that camera could catch her reaction.  For Catching Fire, they HAVE to have everyone on stage.  Because that’s one of my favorite parts, all the tributes holding hands.

      • Martha V.

The tributes don’t hold hands in this movie, that is in Catching Fire.

  • upper_westsider

WOW, what a great scene.  I’ve fallen in love with Josh as Peeta already..

  • http://profile.yahoo.com/OIQAVRJCUCW44HECKTHR4M53MI A

I am sitting in my school’s library stifling fangirl noises and tears and I’m afraid to watch it a second time because I don’t think I’ll be able to control myself. Oh what the heck. *replays 7 times* :’D

  • http://twitter.com/chelscantil Chelsea Cantil

i’ve always thought the tribute being interviewed was up on stage alone I guess I missed it the both times i’ve read it when it says they all sit in an arc.

  • http://twitter.com/MaryElenaMz Mary Poppins

lord knows how i love spoilers even with all these mini clips they keep showing they still haven’t shown the games yet (except for the small fire scene from last june) still CAN’T WAIT FOR MARCH 22ND!

  • Bradley

    OH MY SWEET BABY JESUS.

  • Laura Jones

So didn’t want to spoil myself but asdfghjkl!!! Josh IS Peeta! It didn’t even feel like acting, it’s was so natural!

  • Sarah

I’m hardcore fangirling this movie right now. The clip just blew me away and I’m kind of squealing to myself in my room… Can’t wait until next week!!

  • Cheezy229

    I just got goosebumps

  • Guest

This just blew all my expectations away. The noises I just made reached decimals only heard by dogs.

    • Skye H.

I think you meant decibels lol

  • http://twitter.com/KatieOsterman Katie Osterman

Josh IS Peeta! Gosh, I’m so excited for this now! More so than I was before! :)

  • Lyss

i’m making myself not watch this so i can keep as much of the movie a surprise as possible… it’s so hard!!

  • Beachboy13ds

this is absolutely PHENOMENAL!  although i admit to being extremely surprised that this is one of the clips they chose to release before-hand.  it was one of those plot-twisting, jaw-dropping moments for me reading the book, so im surprised that they released it.  regardless, great acting, this movie looks amazing!

    • https://twitter.com/#!/HarriFSargeant Harri Sargeant

In a way, I can see what you mean.  But the amount of attention that has been paid to the “love triangle” in magazines and blogs etc. mean that its not a secret anymore.  It’s Snape Killed Dumbledore all over again, when you first read it in the books it’s a massive shock - but by the time the film is released even people who don’t know who Dumbledore and Snape are aware of the plot point.

      • Skye H.

Yeah like I knew Vader was Luke’s father way before I saw the film

      • moonshoespotter1712

I wasn’t that surprised by it to be honest… It was much MUCH less of a shock than Snape and Dumbledore. Snape and Dumbledore is the biggest shock ever I’ve ever read.

    • KayJayGee

I am refraining from watching just because of that reason. It’s a main scene. It changed Katniss and Peeta’s dynamic in a way. But I am so, so, so, so tempted to press the play button :S

      • kate

        me too

      • Monica

Me too – not usually one to refrain from watching promo clips but can’t bring myself to watch this one – it’s one of my favourite scenes in the book and I want to wait to see it in its entirety… But oh god the temptation!!

    • doodlebug49

Yeah I kinda wish they didn’t release this one because of that reason of the plot-twisting and whatever. I mean, everyone who read the books will definitely know what’s going to happen, but for the people who havn’t I kinda wanted to see there reactions lol!

  • Glaciusx

OMG. I think I forgot how to breathe!

  • http://twitter.com/Tarah94 Tarah

Josh is a MUCH better Peeta then I thought he would be!

  • Katie

I feel like whenever I or somebody else says “Peeta” it just sounds like “Peter” in a british accent….

    • TheRealHP

Ever since I read the Hunger games I thought that!

    • Alcyone

My friend listened to the audiobook before reading the book, and she actually thought his name WAS Peter. :)

    • SpiritWitch120

Isn’t that how it’s meant to sound like? I can’t be sure though seeing as I’m British … I wonder how it’s pronounced everywhere else?

      • A Very Potter Fan

        Peee-terrrrrr
        You guys pronounce it Peee-tahhhhhhh

      • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=49402565 Ngozi Erina

I think it is actually supposed to be a play on words with pita bread and the fact that his father is a baker. That’s just my take on it, though.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_VCJSDSEDKYOBEKWGIXCDB2QPYA Henry

    he looks funny haha!!!

  • Maddy323

That could’ve been so cheesy but he managed to make it chilling instead.
    Well done, Josh. Well done.

    • Skye H.

yeah soooooo glad they didn’t cast somebody like Pattinson… sorry Rob but your acting would have sucked.

      • Robert Pattinson

No need to apologize, I know I’m an awful actor.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=49402565 Ngozi Erina

Yea, I actually got a chill just from watching it without the sound on, knowing exactly what he was going to be saying, ha!

  • Ilikecheesegirl

I just like almost cried me heart i can’t

  • Zoe

i didnt want to watch it because i hate spoiling stuff but i couldnt help myself! and omg it was soooooo worth it!

  • Jacob

    This. Was. Perfect. :D

  • MillerT1

Epic. Stanley Tucci is awesome and Peeta’s delivery of ‘that’ line is absolutely perfect.

  • Aimee

I was not happy with the casting of Josh, but OMG now I see it. He just won me over in that tiny clip

  • Icyclaire

i think the acting in that is terrible

    • WillowBlood

      How so?

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1045615098 Riana-Tiana Menezes

    OK, I love this clip!

Stanley and Peeta’s casting were right on!
Btw did anyone else notice the guy in the background at 00:38? :P

  • Allison L.

    Oh My Josh! ; )

  • Elletnah

    OMG I got chills!!!
Josh… You are Peeta… Hands down.
And Stanley…. There are no words to describe it….

  • Elletnah

    Two epic looks
    1. Haymitch, just the way he grins you know that he knows whats comming.
    2. Katniss when the realization dawns on her that Peeta was talking about her.

    Epic….
And the way he says Peeta… It just sounds so weird!!!

  • Blake

Restraining myself not to press the play button. I have waited long enough for this film, I guess I can wait 10 more days to see this on the big screen.

  • Tiarnán Shortt

    Ceasar is PERFECT!

  • http://twitter.com/Tygridia Tygridia

Incredible marketing campaign!!! First they release the raping, then they begin selling tickets for the 74th Humger Games, the training center and now they release the interview in which we find that Peeta is in love with Katniss! Guys, we ARE THE CAPITOL!!! They are doing it exactly the same way they did it in the book, so by the time the film gets to the cinema, the only think left will be the actual Hunger Games, and as they say, “The world will be watching”.
btw, the white roses thing could have really happened.

    • A Very Potter Fan

      Lol the “raping.” :-P

      • http://twitter.com/Tygridia Tygridia

        lol!!! just noticed!!!!

  • http://twitter.com/G30rg13_R Georgie R

The clip below started stopping for me, but I really likes what acting I saw (only 9 days left!)

  • Taylor Rayne

Two syllables: PERFECT. Basically word for word! I have zero doubts about the rest of the movie now.

  • http://www.eigakanthemovietheater.blogspot.com Jenny Leigh

So far, Peeta seems impressive. IDK about everyone else, though. Still soooooooooooooooooooo EXCITED :D

  • Sims

    FLAWLESS

  • erinadrienne

    omg. i just cried……

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000234515966 Clinton Miller

Okay this just floored me. If the rest of the movie captures book moments like this not only will I be seeing it the midnight premere but I’ll be going to see it once a week until no teather in my county and the surrounding counties are showing it.

  • Alissawinter

Amazing. This movie is going to be absolutely amazing!
