Lionsgate releases TONS of new ‘Hunger Games’ footage, interviews revealing new scenes and more

Brace yourself for lots of new promotional footage from The Hunger Games. Lionsgate has released a boatload (we’re not exaggerating) of behind-the-scenes footage and interviews you’re going to love.

The first video below is 7 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage. We see several key scenes being shot, including some brand new ones we hadn’t seen before (Haymitch taking a swig!). It’s fun to watch the cast and crew shoot!

The remaining videos are interviews done by the lead cast members.

Am I the only one who started giggle the second they saw how much stuff there is here? The hell with sleeping. I need to see this NOW!!!

Also, am I the only one just realizing how stupid HG shipper names are? TEAM PENIS vs TEAM GANESS(pronounced gayness). They should draw attention to this. It’d put an end to the Twilight comparisons at least. Nothing puts an end to epic romance like being on a team with a gay penis xD

I honestly feel like it’s a good thing that a lot of people don’t think Jennifer Lawrence is the right choice for Katniss. The half that think she’s great will automatically like her portrayal of Katniss but those that disagree will actually be making her a better Katniss because the character of Katniss never really fully connects with the readers, at least in the first book. We’re interested in her story but the girl herself is distant towards everyone except Prim and Gale in the beginning.

  I agree. Honestly, I’m not that big a fan of Katniss’s personality, as opposed to Peeta or Rue, but that doesn’t mean that Jennifer won’t do a great job. She seems a bit un-personable in the clips I’ve seen- but that’s how Katniss is. For those who have their doubts, she was phenomenal in Winter’s Bone, playing a character who is arguably similar to Katniss.

Am I the only one who watched Donald Sutherland’s one and had a flashback to Richard Harris and thought “Holy sh*t what are they gonna do if he dies before Mockingjay is finished?”

I’m not someone to all gooey over love triangles but Josh’s eyes literally sparkle at 2.43 when he’s talking about Peeta’s love for Katniss and it is just so cute. I was never really sold as him being Peeta but I’m sold now :) He’s amazing.

ok I couldn’t resist watching the behind the scenes! lolz And honestly it might just be me but I don’t feel spoiled at all….I know we’ve been given a lot of snippets from the first bits of the movie but honestly when I finally see this all put together it’ll be like I haven’t seen anything at all lolz

Lenny Kravitz isn’t doing it for me. I’m not about it. The only thing he’s got going for him is the calm he happens to radiate. For me Katniss was never an underdog. Like, she grew up a hunter. She knows how to be hungry. She knows a little about healing and plants and the woods. She had a huge leg up compared to say D10 Boy (cripple) or 12 year old Rue. That just really annoyed me.

Elizabeth Banks talking about Katniss and Effie! So Effie!!! She is totally in Effie mode!
And she calls the Hunger Games a visual, entertaining movie, that is also thought provoking. That’s exactly what it should be!

With all the fuss over the casting of Peeta and Gale (re: hair colour etc), all I can say if you still have doubts after the interviews then you will never be satisfied because they both embody their characters. All through Josh’s interview he is smilling,animated and full of sincere compliments.While Liam is a little sullen,boredish or annoyed that he has to answer these questions and doesn’t reveal his softness until he talks about taking care of Prim……….sooo perfect
