Some new information today has us believing that Fringe may be more likely to receive a season 5 pickup from Fox than we’d previously thought!

The TV Line Renewal Scorecard has been updated to reflect the most recent network developments, and in the case of Fringe the prediction has changed from “a long shot” to “could go either way” and now to “a safe bet.”

What’s the reason for TV Line’s renewed confidence in the drama? Maybe it’s partially due to Fox’s recent cancellation of Terra Nova. Losing such an expensive drama frees up more funds for the struggling (but popular) Fringe, and it’s noteworthy as well that if Fox was going to cancel it, they’d probably let the audience and the writers know sooner rather than later.

It’s all just conjecture at this point of course, we won’t know anything until the network makes an official announcement. But it’s encouraging news none the less!

Fix seems to be cancelling all their popular shows (like Terra Nova) so who knows.

it was suggested some time ago, on some website, that maybe they’d give fringe a 10 or 13 episode swan song, á la Chuck, and while i would hate to see Fringe go, i would much prefer that to a sudden cancellation at the end of the current season. crossing my fingers!!

One more season. One more season and I’ll be happy.

Two episodes- tie Fringe to X-Files.  If done right would be mind boggling.
