‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke thinks Stephenie will write additional books for the Saga

While at Sundance, Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke was asked about the Twilight franchise and whether or not she expects author Stephenie Meyer to write more books centered on Edward and Bella.

She seems to think Meyer has to because the characters are “so alive.”

You may remember that the CEO of Lionsgate – who purchased Twilight studio Summit – wants additional Twilight films or a television show.

What do you think: Will Meyer write more vampire books in the Saga realm or is she finished?

  Hypable – I’m sick of this.     I agree. This section is for people that want to see news about Twilight, not haters. If you don’t like twilight, harry potter, the hunger games, etc. then don’t visit their sections. I agree with ExtraordinaryGirl that people have a right to their opinions but to me it seems like people picking and picking and picking. Personally if I don’t like something I don’t so to where it is. Example: I don’t like football, so I don’t go to ESPN’s website.

I’ve always thought she would. Twilight made her rich, but how rich? – certainly not JK Rowling rich. The Host came out before Breaking Dawn was published (so in the middle of all the Twilight craziness) and even though it was successful, I bet that if you ask most people they have no idea Stephenie Meyer wrote anything that’s not Twilight (most people I know certainly don’t). She needs Twilight to continue to be relevant. Whatever she writes about Twilight will sell. She knows it, we know it, Lionsgate knows it. I’m sure she won’t risk this one, especially when she might make some extra millions with a new book.

  It’s actually sad that more people don’t know about the Host, because I, for one, thought it was a much better book. I actually really liked that one.

Stories need an ending. They can’t just go on forever just for money. That’s not fair.

i don’t think she will..she’s stated that she will not continue the series, atleast not focused on edward and bella, and i think her fans know that she’s a very stubborn person..heck, she hasn’t even talked about any new books of any series of hers since the eclipse novella came out..i’m almost certain she’s done.

No. She shouldn’t anyway. Good authors know when to stop. And not that she’s a particularly great author, but she should know when to end things as well. The characters really aren’t that “alive” and she doesn’t need to continue.

  Well, I aggree that every story should have a decent ending, and maybe it is time to stop, HP had a great ending, more books would ruin it. But Twilight has been amazing and still is a great story, great books and great movies, so I wouldn’t mind if she wrote another book

It would be great for her to write a few more book because it would be great to read about how the baby grows up with suck an amazing turn of events like Jacob. You just know what will happen eventually but it sucks you don’t get it see how it’s all played out. As for movies I don’t really care .. they didn’t pick the greatest actors in the world and that kind of makes the movies suck if you read the books. But a book would be something to look for ways to.

okay, maybe it’s about making money, maybe NOT! maybe she wants to write more books because she WANTS! why must everything go around money?? that’s just what I think
actually I would be very happy if the story goes on! the characters are alive for me too and I can’t stop thinking about them and what could happen
