After fans of the beloved Community formed flash mobs, petitioned NBC and fought with viral social media campaigns (#savecommunity), NBC Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt informed the public that Community will not be cancelled. Have we all #savedcommunity? We’re still praying for #sixseasonsandamovie!

Community, our favorite intelligent television comedy, seemed on the chopping block when NBC pulled the show from its midseason lineup.

The cast of the show and fans took to the proverbial online streets in a panicked rage. Donald Glover, Troy, tweeted that NBC had, “Britta’d it,” Alison Brie, Annie, added, “Troy and Abed in the … summer??” and the cast put together a Save Greendale public service announcement on College Humor:

Fans went to the internet with #savecommunity and #sixseasonsandamovie. They drafted petitions and even created a Save Community flash mob outside 30 Rockefeller Center:

And after all that work, Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt has now officially said, as found on TVovermind:

When I announced our midseason changes last fall and took Community off the schedule, I failed to explicitly say that it would be back … I want to expel any notion that it is just disappearing off the schedule.

The network promised Community will be back in Spring for sure, but they still haven’t released when, so check back on Hypable for updates.

What do you think about the announcement? Is it enough? What are the chances of #sixseasonsandamovie?
