If you were lucky enough to be granted early access to Bioware’s first MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, chances are you have spent quite a bit of time waiting in a server queue, a problem the developer is looking to fix.
“As you know, there are a lot of folks who want to play the game right now and we want to make sure they have lots of people to play with.” Said BioWare executive producer Jeff Hickman. “Balancing this with figuring out when to bring new servers online to help alleviate the size of the queues is part art and part science. On one hand, you do not want people to wait too long – on the other hand, you want to make sure that people have a dynamic, engaging community to play with for long after launch.”
The Old Republic officially launches until December 20 which brings an even higher chance of long wait times so hopefully Bioware can figure out a fix fast.
Have you had to deal with excessively long wait times when trying to play?
