You saw Bella’s wedding dress in the film, but now three high-res photos have been released.

The dress was designed by Carolina Herrera, and it looks beautiful in these photos!

  • Laura

The back is beautiful, as are the ends of the sleeves, but the front looks like an acrobat’s suit with the plain cut and that weird triangular pattern. Really, this dress is nothing to write home about.

    • Ida

Agreed. And I don’t like those buttons, they just ruin the beautiful backside of the dress.

      • PotionWillow207

Buttons all the way down the back like that are hard to pull off well for a stitcher, especially when the back is sheer for a good portion of it. If they’re not lined up perfectly it looks off.

        • Ida

Well, I guess someone with knowledge of buttons and sowing can appreciate them for that, but I still don’t like it. They clash to much with the rest of it.

          • PotionWillow207

Personally, I’m not a fan of them either. My dress for senior prom had buttons all the way down the back like that, and I was miserable every time I sat down. They poke you in the back.

          • Ida

Didn’t think of that. My favorite sweater has buttons down the back, and they hurt.

      Completely, 100% agree.

    • PotionWillow207

I disagree about the front of the dress. It is simple and “plain” because the back is so intricate. If there was beading or sequins or lace it would look too busy. Plus, you have to keep in mind that during the ceremony the back of the dress is what the audience will be looking at 99% of the time. So it makes more sense for the back to be more decorated than the front.

And the seams on the front are meant to fool the eye into making Kristen’s body shape look more defined. It’s very similar to the idea of Stella McCartney’s black and white dress that caused such a stir a few months ago. And clearly it has done it’s job. I’ve never seen so many people comment on how skinny Kristen looks in any other outfit. And you know why she looks so skinny? Yes, she is, but the seaming in the dress is what makes everyone notice it.

      • Laura

        Unintentionally quick reply, lol.

There’s no need to explain the mechanics of why the dress is how it is. I know the intention behind the design and it doesn’t change my mind. I still do not like the dress and the front still looks like something that belongs on a gymnast. The back looks classic and traditional while the front looks like something out of the 80s.

Just to clear the air, I have nothing against simple. But imho, Bella’s dress front is simple but tacky when it should have been simple yet elegant. Look at Kate Middleton’s wedding dress for example. It was really just a plain white dress with a lace collar and sleeves. The only thing flashy was her tiara and even that wasn’t huge. However, the dress was still beautiful and she looked gorgeous in it. And her sister’s bridesmaid dress was even more simplistic and yet people couldn’t shut up about how great she looked. That’s how simplicity should be done.

i agree with Laura i love the back and the sleeves but then the front just looks werid…

  • Niki

The back and the sleeves are stunning, I especially love the open back. It adds this element of grace and elegance. The buttons on the sleeve are really pretty as well and really add to the detail. However, I completely agree with Laura on the front. It looks awkward, especially the way is shapes around her figure and the way they pieced it together. I can’t say it’s not beautiful, it absolutley is. I can’t lie though and say it’s the most gorgeous dress in the world, since it clearly isn’t.

  • Jen

I thought the dress was gorgeous but worked best due to Kristen’s slender figure. It could potentially be really unflattering.

I actually really liked and preferred the ‘nightmare’ dress and hairstyle. I thought she looked flawless!

I thought the exact same thing but I suppose they were just trying to stick with the book.

You can’t really notice it in the pictures but I loved the bottom of the dress, it looked amazing especially when she was walking.
