First look: ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 1′ DVD/Bluray cover, features revealed!

We’re just over a week out from the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in theaters, but that hasn’t stopped Summit from getting you to think about the DVD/Blu-ray version.

MovieWeb has uncovered the boxart as well as a few of the special features.

What can you expect to find on the DVD/Blu-ray?

- 6-part Documentary (viewable in both standard and PIP modes)
- Bella & Edward’s Personal Wedding Video
- Becoming Jacob
- Jump to…(character specific favorite scenes)
- Audio Commentary with Bill Condon

We’re glad to see audio commentary return, and the documentary should be a fun watch as well. See the cover art below. No release date has been announced, but we’ll assume it hits shelves in March based on past Twilight film releases.

Uh, where are the deleted scenes? There’s got to be some. Other than that, I’m happy with everything, though I don’t think the “Jump to…” feature is really necessary.

I hope they have a commentary with Rob, Kristen, and Taylor for the last one then. It would have been great to have it for this one….And yea, where are the deleted/extended scenes?

Shouldn’t there be deleted scenes and maybe even a sneak peek at Part 2?
I can’t wait until stores like Target and Walmart reveal their special editions. I like Target’s 3 disc editions much better.

    Yeah. As soon as I posted I saw the “few”.
    It is odd they reveal this stuff so soon though. Summit is a very peculiar company. Wonder what they have up thier sleeves for now.

      It’s pretty logical to me. They want to follow the hype of the first part coming out in theaters, riding the wave sorta. With them releasing the DVD cover, they manage to promote both the film in theaters and the future release of the DVD- thus getting more money in both situations. Why? Because this is the film before it’s all over. When they release this on DVD, the sales need to be big. If they loose fans, or potential buyers, then the second part won’t outgross the previous 4 movies, and the PR department will really need to milk the good reviews to overshaddow the bad finacial situation the film would be in.

  thats unfair i got my 9 year old son into see it but then im in scotland and it was only rated a 12A over here in the UK which means u can get in under 12 as long as u have an adult with u :)

I’m not completely satisfied with the features. Although bill condon is a brilliant and credible director, Stephenie Meyer is finally the producer. I would love to hear some of her input on the commentary now that she has “official” say-so’s in the movies.

i think they did a great job for the cover but i think they should add more to the special features. that wont be enough for me. but im also looking for part 2 next year thanks for making these and its been great being a fan of the book and the movies. i cant wait for kristin and rob to make more movies past this series. i hope we see more of stuff like this.
