EIGHT ‘The Hunger Games’ posters featuring first looks at Effie, Haymitch, Cato, Cinna, Rue!

This caught us by surprise – new posters for The Hunger Games have just appeared on various movie sites!

They provide us with first looks at Effie, Haymitch, Cato, Cinna, and Rue! Also pictured are Katniss, Peeta, and Gale.

Wow! What do you think of ‘em?

Wow. I REALLY like this poster. No gimmicks, no bad photo-shopping, just an ominous shot of Peeta against black, with the logo on the side giving a sense of drama and danger. Josh looks great as well!

HOLY POOP! Wow, Haymitch!!! I never pictured him with long hair so this is completely shocking but in a very, very good way! And Effie looks Super odd and I love it!!! It’s awesome to see Cinna and Rue and Cato too! I also really like how Peeta looks just… very kind. Kudos to Josh for that!

I like the fact that Katniss is facing the other direction from the others, makes her stand out- as she should.

Awesome!!! The photos are amazing. So simple but you can glimpse their personality. Gale is looking kind of menacing. Petta so kind and Rue so innocent. And Effie! So cool!!!

These are gorgeous. Effie is the best one I think.
I pictured Cinna more feminine, Haymitch more shabby, Gale with long hair and Rue white. But I will not complain about any of this. what’s important is the acting and how they capture their characters.
I really love how they simply just have their profile with their name.

Love it! My only issue is that that might not be the most flattering shot of Josh Hutcherson, but there’s not much that can be done about that… Otherwise, I’m all in! >:D

Awesome! I love Katniss facing the other way, refusing to conform! And Effie looks fantastic! Can’t wait to see more of the Capitol people, the costume/make-up is sure to be fantastic :)

YAY! Amazing. Effie looks completely different to how I imagined, but I love it! I love that you can see Cinna’s gold eyeshadow. Cato looks like the love child of Peeta and Gale… subplot? ;)

They look amazing!
I was surprised by Haymitch, but then I realised I did imagine him along those lines! He looks great, grizzled and gritty with a touch of haunted humanity about him. Love it.

Effie scared me, but that’s brilliant, too, because Capitol citizens are supposed to be scary and odd. I’m glad she looks that way, because it will make people feel quite sickened by the Capitol’s way of life. Kudos to the person who designed that look!

Cinna is looking great, too. I love the fact that they added the gold above his eye, lovely little book detail to please the fans. :-)

Peeta, Katniss, Gale, and Rue are JUST how I imagined them. Perfect. The only one of these that didn’t impress me was Cato.

    I agree with everything. But I’ve seen Alexander act. He’ll pull it off for sure. The whole insane-bully-murderer-Career thing. in fact, I think that this slightly more human look to him will make the whole mutt scene more awful.

But why has Effie grey hair? Where’s the pink wig?
And Haymitch look to cleaned up and sober…I don’t like his hairstyle…

BUT, I love how they’ve put the golden eyeliner on Cinna!

LOVE Effie! Cinna looks gorgeous too! Haymitch looks a little too…well, clean and sober, but I think that’s just the poster photoshopping going a little overboard.

These are lovely, but the one color I never imagined Effie’s hair being is gray. Consequently, that is the color portrayed in in her picture. Pink would be much more accurate, but gray? No. Not on Effie.

I was unimpressed with Peeta and Gale, they never matched the ones in my head, but they look pretty good here. Rue looks great, and Haymitch reminds me of Sawyer from LOST. Just an observation :)

WOW. They look spectacular. Nothing really shocking revealed in the ones for Katniss, Rue, Peeta, or Gale, but the ones for Haymitch, Effie, and Cinna finally give us some insight on what their characters will look like! And am I satisfied.

EVERYONE LOOKS AMAZING!!!! Peeta Effie and Cinna all look perfect!!!! I love Gale and Rue. The only one i’m a bit skeptical about Haymitch, He doesn’t look damaged enough… I ll do my best to wait and judge for the movie though…

  I thought so too at first, but I went back and re-listened (I only have the audio books) to the first one recently and Rue is described as having dark skin. I don’t remember about Cinna though, I don’t think he did but I could be wrong.

I love them!!! Rue is now becoming my wallpaper!!! Haymitch does look scruffy, maybe it is after he cleaned up a bit when he said he was going to help Katniss and Peeta, he still looks beyond tired and sad… Really sad. And Effie had me laughing loudly!!!! Love how they added the little detail of Cinnas gold eyeliner!!!

Haymitch looks…wrong. Not bad, but just not how I imagined him. I think the movie is going to do him justice. This is just a poster, after all.

If Haymitch were a bit more scruffy and dress sort of like a homeless man, he would be perfect. I usually find that my vision of Haymitch is different than that of others…

I think these posters are meant to show them all as clean and perfect-looking (with the skin being so smoothed out and everything) because it’s showing them as what they would have been like in the Capitol.

Here are my thoughts:
Peeta- he looks like he is looking at katniss thinking about how to save her.
Gale- he looks like he is longing to do more with his life.
Haymich- he looks so sad and just like he does not want to be there at all.
Rue- you can really see her small demeanor and all of her innocence.
Effie- she looks like she is at the reaping looking at the contestant coming up.
Cinna- he looks like he know what will happen and is hoping that it won’t.
Cato- he has his serious demeanor but a small smirk thinking he will win.
Katniss- I can’t explain katniss because we know her so well already.
In all they are amazing and really give me hope for these films.

I absolutely love rue’s poster. It just hits me emotionally and visually. I love how they got so many details in even though they’re just face shots. They have Cinna’s gold eye liner. The angle they have peeta’s face at makes him look kinda like a fish…
