It’s already time to start talking about a First Class sequel and James McAvoy, who plays the young Charles Xavier, had some thoughts on the film.

James McAvoy recently sat down with Total Film to talk a tiny bit about X-Men: First Class. Though he didn’t give details about what would actually be happening in the sequel, he does offer a point-of-view regarding the new series.

When asked if he would be up for a sequel, McAvoy says:

“I’d be up for it. But the truth is I’m contractually obliged to be up for it because they made us all sign multiple picture deals!”

When asked if he knows where the story will go for the second film:

“I’ve spoken to Matthew [Vaughn] about ideas, but I can’t tell you what they are because they may or may not be the story. One thing I liked about our one was that it was different from the other three films where the X-Men are the good guys, Wolverine’s figuring out who he is and Magneto is the bad guy. This was a completely different thing. Magneto wasn’t a bad guy, we were friends. We’re now set up to go back to the way the other movies are, so we’ve got to try to be cleverer than that.”

This certainly sounds interesting. We’re sure Matthew Vaughn has an idea as to where the next movie is going to go. What kinds of things would you like to see in the First Class sequel?

First class was amazing. It would be nice to see how the school started and maybe a little Storm and Cyclops running around. Either way, it should be amazing.

I wonder if every actor signed a multiple picture contract, because i’m thinking its going to put some difficult production haults with Jennifer Lawrence. Maybe, maybe not. But with her as Mystique, and in Hunger Games plus whatever is thrown her way (she’s going to be a hot commodity for a while) i can see it getting hectic. But maybe not with shooting not takeing all that long.
I liked First Class so i’m up for whatever they throw our way, i’ve liked all of the Xmen movies… as long as the tie the story in and dont just throw random things in that dont make sense with the other films. I think that is where it gets tricky having so many Xmen movies out there, they have to think before they write and film.

i was upset with the ending of first class, cos i was hoping that erik and charles would be on different sides in the first film and charles to become paralysed in the 3rd film cos i heard they were making a trilogy.
