On the panel were executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec, as well as stars Nina Dobrev (Elena), Ian Somerhalder (Damon), Paul Wesley (Stefan), Candice Accola (Caroline) and Joseph Morgan (Klaus). Not much was revealed, but the cast had some fun banter!

On Damon’s development, Kevin Williamson explained:

Damon is a reluctant hero. It’s in his nature to kill people but he’s got Elena standing there beside saying that’s not ok, so what he does with that will be very interesting to watch what plays out and explodes in his face.

Although Nina Dobrev said that she enjoys playing both Katherine and Elena, she does say it’s a lot of hard work, and predict that “they will kill me one day.” Does she mean that Katherine or Elena will eventually get killed off?

When asked how she transforms from Elena to Katherine, Ian Somerhalder cut in: “She becomes a raving bitch.”

The cast members were also asked what roles they’d like to play beside their own, and while Joseph Morgan answered Damon, “with all the fun he’s having,” Somerhalder, Paul Wesley and Williamson all answer Klaus.

Candice Accola was asked what will happen between Caroline and Tyler, but Somerhalder answered: “PUPPIES. They get a vampire puppy.” Paul Wesley added, “It comes out looking like Michael Trevino.”

Finally, the cast picked “teams”: Paul Wesley revealed a “Team Damon” shirt while Ian Somerhalder went with “Team Stefan,” and the writers diplomatically displayed “Team Stefan, Damon, Catherine, Elena, Klaus and Caroline” shirts.
