Stuart Craig, the fantastic Harry Potter film set designer, gave a new interview to Architectural Digest and revealed lots of great concept art for Deathly Hallows – Part 2!

Craig explains various sets and how he designed them the way he did. This is what he had to say about work on Gringotts:

In search of one of Voldemort’s Horcruxes, Harry, Ron, and Hermione visit Gringotts Wizarding Bank on Diagon Alley. Craig and his team designed the bank to reflect wealth and grandeur. “Banks are traditionally symbols of stability,” he explains. “I know that recent history undid all this, but that is the intention in bank architecture—to convey this feeling of reassurance, of stabililty, of solidity. So our banking hall, like any other, is made of marble and big marble columns. And it has great strength.”

Fromt he very begining the Harry Potter crew have created the wizarding world near enoough exactly how JK describes it. If it wasn’t for the extreme measures and accuracy that the set designers etc go to the films would of been a coplete flop! They really do deserve an oscar.

Brilliant.  The only thing I don’t like is how the Gringots dragon used to look like, glad they changed it.

    I personally don’t like the changed dragon……:(

It’s only concept art, it will look like how it does in the trailers.
