The CW has released their fall schedule, and included with the schedule are summaries of their shows, that say not only what has happened up until now but also what will happen next year. Although the two-hour Supernatural finale event does not air until tomorrow night, the description of the show includes summaries both of seasons 6 and 7 – they are relatively vague, yet give some hints as to what we can expect!
Read on with caution, as this appears to contain spoilers.
This is the part of the summary which describes the end of season 6, the story premise for season 7 and the list of cast members – all interesting, if we are to take this as fact:
Sam and Dean reeled from the betrayal by their friend — and raced to stop the angel and demon before they opened that dangerous, otherworldly door. Now, in season seven, the Winchesters will find themselves in an increasingly sinister, changing landscape, up against a new foe unlike anything they’ve ever fought. They’ll find their old tricks, weapons and hiding places all rendered useless. All they’ll have is each other. And the certainty that, like the last of the cowboy outlaws, whatever they face, they’re not going down without a fight. The series stars Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester, Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester and Misha Collins as Castiel.
While it doesn’t say whether Sam and Dean stopped the opening of Purgatory, the description of season 7, “The Winchesters will find themselves in an increasingly sinister, changing landscape,” might mean that the door is indeed opened. More importantly, it looks like Sam will still be Sam, whatever happens to his soul wall in the finale, and note that Misha Collins is still listed as a series regular – does that indeed mean he will be back, or is this description from The CW subject to change?
